A Peek at the Week
This week we learned about manners, and how our manners can affect feelings. We talked about when to say please, thank you, you’re welcome, excuse me, no thank you, and sorry. We also talked about “I feel _____ when _____”. Some of the emotions/feelings discussed included: happy, sad, angry, excited, surprised, silly, tired and scared.
Centers: cutting and coloring a book about saying “Hi”, floor puzzles, train table, a holiday project, a new center called “balls and ramps”, and journals writing about “I feel ____ when _____”.
Books: Manners, and Elmo’s Good Manners.
Vocabulary words: see the words in italics above.
Physical Therapy Group
This week was lots of fun for everyone in PT group. The students were paired up, one being a reindeer, the other being Santa. Their job was to deliver “presents” (colored bean bags) to the houses (different colored hoops) by matching the correct colors while riding on scooter boards. Everyone had a great time and did great delivering presents!
Important Notices
*AHHCHOOO! We are working on reminding the students to sneeze and cough into their elbows. This is a great way to help prevent the spread of germs as we are in the cold/flu season!
*Reminder: Please call or email if your child is going to be absent.
A Look Ahead…
*The last week of December we will be talking about food/meals and holidays.
*RAFT update: All of our students are doing a GREAT job earning those tickets, and have been collecting them in their special envelopes in the classroom. The school store will be up and running shortly and the students will be able to trade in their tickets for prizes!
Extra! Extra!
*My email address is knagy@cromwellct.org
* Our website is: www.cromwellschools.org/ecs and click on ECS Pre-K program.
*Mittens, please! Sending your child to school with mittens instead of gloves is helpful to all of us. We are teaching self-help skills, helping your child to become as independent as possible. Mittens are the best option for this. Thanks for your help with this!
* We’re still in search of “BOONE-REWRITABLES” dry erase markers.
Have a nice weekend!
