We continue our Second Steps lessons with Impulsive Puppy and Slow Down Snail.  The students are really responding to these lessons on emotions and empathy.

Home-school connection: it is important to let children express their emotions, even “negative” ones such as sad, angry, disappointed, and bored. Help your child to understand his/her emotions and work through appropriate ways to express these emotions. It’s important to allow your child to feel and express his/her feelings, not discourage them. By modeling your emotional behavior, your child can learn valuable lessons about managing his/her own behavior.
